In an effort to keep our customers informed, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a bit about Backstage and make you aware of the exciting changes currently taking place.
Backstage Equipment was formed in 1979 by Cary Griffith, our chief designer and president. Cary is a 30 year veteran of the Motion Picture Industry and inventor of the now famous "Taco-Carts". He originally began making carts for himself and fellow grips in order to save valuable time -and their backs! Word spread and backstage now produces over thirty specialized carts for virtually every behind-the-scene craft including: lighting, grip, camera, video, prop andsound. Our carts and equipment have become standard items for all major studios, rental houses, and lighting and grip trucks throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, South America and Japan.
Backstage carts and equipment have always been designed with the crew member in mind. All of our equipment is constructed using only the finest materials, machinery, skills and experience. We fully stand behind any product we manufacture indefinitely.
We have a welcome personnel addition here at Backstage. Peter Johnson has just assumed the role of maintaining inventory and taking care of shipping and receiving. Our inventory keeps growing day-by-day so we are really counting on Peter to keep track of it all. We always make these personnel changes with the client in mind so we certainly hope that all of you out there will benefit. And yes, Cary is still here and looks forward to hearing any and all comments and suggestions you may have.
